When you scan a physical document, the scanner captures the entire glass bed — including the blank border around the actual page. The result is a PDF where the real content is surrounded by a thick frame of empty whitespace that distorts the layout when printed, viewed on screen, or inserted into presentations. Cropping a PDF removes those unwanted borders and focuses the view on the content that actually matters. Whether you're trimming margins from a scanned contract, cutting away black scan borders, removing a logo strip from a document template, or adjusting the visible area of a form, the crop tool lets you define exactly which portion of each page to keep. dokk.ai lets you draw a crop rectangle interactively on a page preview, or enter exact coordinates in millimeters or points. You can apply the same crop to all pages at once — useful when every page has the same margin issue — or set individual crop boxes per page for documents where each page has a different layout. Changes are non-destructive until you export: the original file is never overwritten. The tool handles all PDF variants including scanned image PDFs, text-based documents, forms, and mixed-content files. There is no restriction on page count or file size within your plan limits. The crop is applied at the PDF level using PDF media box and crop box coordinates, which means the text layer, hyperlinks, bookmarks, and annotations are all preserved exactly as they were.
